How do I perform a soft or hard restart of my terminal?

To safely restart the PAX terminal, follow the steps below based on the device’s responsiveness. 

Soft restart

Use this method when the terminal is responsive, but you wish to restart it due to stuck applications or connectivity issues.  

1. Press the power button on the right side of the terminal and hold it for 2-3 seconds.
2. Select restart on the screen.

Hard restart

Use this method when the terminal is frozen or unresponsive.

1. Slide the battery cover slide latch at the back of the terminal.
2. Remove the battery and wait 2-3 seconds.
3. Insert the battery and close the cover.
4. Press the power button on the right side for 3-5 seconds to turn on the terminal.
